Organizers of the PrideDay Parade and Festival, OutFest and other Philadelphia Pride Events

Annual Events

OUTFEST IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2012 (BTW)

Our next event is the 2012 LGBT PrideDay Parade and Festival

                                Sunday, June 10, 2012

The International 2012 Pride Theme is "Pride Links Us Together"

June is recognized as Gay Pride Month throughout the World.  Philly Pride is one of hundreds of Gay Pride organizations organizing and presenting spectacular outside events to promote the visibility of the LGBT community.  Tradition dictates that Philadelphia has its LGBT Pride Day Parade and Festival on the second Sunday of June, which will be June 10, 2012.  PrideDay, and our October event, "Outfest," are the two largest networking days for our entire community.  All community organizations participate. Thousands of LGBT community members turn out with our particular style and flair, making this a must-see event.

New this year will be the spectacular appearance of the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, complete with horses.

The Parade forms at 13th and Locust, in the heart of the Gayborhood and kicks off at exactly 12:00 noon.

There are four (4) performance locations at:
12th and Locust

2nd and Market

The parade continues over Market Street, then proceeds over the ramp across I-95, and ends at the main gate of the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing.  We will not use Front Street this year because of SEPTA rerouting.

The gates at the Festival will also open at 12:00 noon.  The crowds grow steadily until the parade arrives around 1:30.  The LGBT Festival is the largest single day event at Penn's Landing.  Admission is $10.  Your admission pays for the rental of the facility, the parade, all costs involved, the performers, with a little seed money left over for Outfest 2012.  We also make money from beverage sales (Miller beer, Barefoot Wine, Stoli Vodka)

We are unveiling a new food area which we call the "Food Ramp."  It is located along the long sloping "Walk of Firsts" which is the back wall of the Great Plaza. The following food vendors will be there:  Beka's Foods, Festival Food, Innovative Catering, Maui Wowi, N&A Catering, Sherri's Crab Cakes, Stella Jeanes Festival Foods, Three Thai Sushi.  Other food servers, such as Dog Gone Dog and Irish Ice are on the plaza itself.  We have never had so many food vendors.  Penn's Landing has completed their renovation in this area and it is now fully planted with new park benches.  Save your calories for June 10.  We are bringing in portable bathrooms to augment the Penn's Landing Facilities (all our facilities are Unisex).

Home Depot will be building bird houses in the Family Zone with the kids.
